I’m Lora Lennox,

a Scottish costume designer, wardrobe manager and maker.

I run a one-person wardrobe department for 80+ performers across 14 shows at Global Village Dubai, and between seasons I design, make and source complete shows for production companies, from brief and budget to install. Before that, I was principal dresser on Guys and Dolls at The Bridge Theatre and part of the wardrobe crew for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour.

I trained in Performance and Theatrical Design at the University of Edinburgh, and I approach every piece the same way: understand the character, the movement and the moment it has to work in, then build something that does more than clothe the body. It defines presence.

Alongside production work, Lora Lennox is my own design studio, where I create original performance costumes, like the collection on my homepage, and take on private commissions for performers and productions.

Run the wardrobe department single-handedly for a cast of 80+ performers across 14 shows and acts: All Aboard, Slam, Toyshop, Taxi Flash, Clowns to the Rescue, Bollywood Icon, Boom, the Air Kings show, the Street clowns and the kids’ theatre IP shows (Care Bears, PJ Masks, Octonauts and Waleef).
Manage the full costume pipeline: master sizing charts, cast allocations, fittings, alterations, dyeing, remakes and new builds.
Brief and schedule costume makers and tailors, and oversee costume budgets, invoicing, inventory and stock across all productions.
Resolve wardrobe problems quickly between and during shows so every performance runs uninterrupted.

Lecturer and tutor in costume at a women’s liberal arts college, alongside running the wardrobe for its main production.
Wardrobe manager for Into the Woods with a cast of 18, overseeing every costume from planning to performance.
Managed the costume budget, balancing sourcing, buying and making to keep the production on track.
Ran fittings for the full cast and carried out the alterations that came out of them.
Brought students into the wardrobe process, sharing practical costume skills on a live production.
Ran the show backstage, from wardrobe preparation and maintenance to dressing during performances.
